  Dave & Gail Barnhill, Fritwell Alun and Dave fitted us a new kitchen in August 2008 and we cannot praise them highly enough. They are, without doubt, the best tradesman we have ever used. From our first contact with them we found them to be 100% reliable – they turned up, contacted us or sent us stuff when they promised. They took the time to listen to us and ensure they understood what we wanted. They had a very can do attitude and nothing appeared too much trouble for them – and this turned out to be true. We always had a picture in our heads of what we wanted the kitchen to look like and they turned this into reality. We could not be more pleased with our kitchen and this goes for these lads. I would not dream of using anyone else and I would recommend them to anyone. Reliable, understanding to our changes of mind, always determined to ensure we were happy as the job progressed, clean and tidy, mindful of the fact they were in our home and it all happened on time and in budget. 5 stars out of 5.

• Great guys, great job, would recommend

  I gave Alun and Dave job to refit our ladies toilets. It was in a terrible state and all clients were complaining. We had mould everywhere due to the water leak, the units were falling apart and all was outdated. The price was very reasonable and I liked their friendliness and approach. They did a great job by replacing lino floor to tiles, got rid off all the horrible pink basins and toilets and changed them to white, they installed new vanity unit and painted all the walls and woodwork. I was very happy with their work and would certainly not hesitate to use them again. The next job would be our kitchen!

• Highly recommended

  Alun and Dave recently fitted our new bathroom, which included stripping back the existing suite and tiles, putting in a false wall, plastering, tiling, moving plumbing, fitting a new shower and screen and various other bits and bobs. They travelled from Bicester to Chipping Norton to quote for us, and the price was very reasonable. They took the time to talk through options that hadn't even occurred to us and were very patient about our lack of research and knowledge! They were an absolute pleasure to have about the house - very friendly, cheerful, reassuring and knowledgeable, which put us at ease because we've had a bad experience with tradesman in the past. When we had questions half-way through the job about remaining plumbing items we needed to buy, they were happy to talk us through it over the phone in the evenings - nothing was too much trouble. The finished job was excellent and exactly what we were after, both visually and from a practical point of view. And, because the job turned out to be less complicated than expected, the end price was lower than the original quote. I would definitely employ Alun and Dave again, and look forward to seeing them in the near future.

• A brilliant kitchen makeover!

  What first impressed me about Alun and Dave was their confidence and responsiveness. When I approached them with my kitchen project -- not an easy job as the kitchen was small with awkward corners -- and explained the challenges (constraints which had scared away at least three other kitchen fitters/designers!), Alun and Dave responded with a positive 'bring-it-on' attitude. It was a complicated project from start to finish, involving everything from bringing down a wall, removing a radiator, assembling the flat-packed kitchen units, removing the existing flooring and replacing with porcelain tiles, to the actual fitting (including integrated appliances, an extractor, and a waste disposal unit), installing recessed ceiling lighting, painting, tiling, re-plumbing, re-wiring, and much more! Everything was done to high standards, efficiently, and at a competitive price. After the first day, my confidence in them was cemented. They kept me up to date at every stage of the project; offered sound practical advice; and alleviated my initial worries with their friendly, humorous banter!

• Bathroom and Kitchen

  "Alun and Dave recently replaced the whole shower unit for me in my en-suite, with a new cubicle, tray, power shower and pump. They also tiled the walls and the bathroom floor. They did a superb job – the quality of their work was first rate. I was so thrilled with the result that I booked them to do my kitchen and dining room extension. They removed the dividing wall, moved my cooker, replaced the worktops, sink and hob and constructed an island from the spare cupboards. They then laid down solid oak flooring throughout. They did a really efficient, professional job and completely transformed my kitchen. With a major renovation project you are always worried about who you should entrust to do the work. I am so glad that I chose Alun and Dave and I would highly recommend them to you."
