The true colours

We chose the carpet and flooring company because it was a local shop rather than a big company, the shop was smart and the owner pleasant enough. We got the quotation and we gave the go ahead, the carpet fitter came (very good, quick and professional). When doing the bedroom, the fitter said than the doors needed cutting and that it would be �£15 each in this case 5. We looked at the quotation and this extra cost was not mentioned, even though the fitter said it was normally on the written quote. We called the owner. He was very patronising on the phone, saying that noone else had ever complained and everyone knew that it was common practice. In the end we did it ourselves because we thought it was a very bad business on his part not to mention this cost. We did not want to pay an extra �£75 for 30 minutes work when the whole installation was supposed to cost �£140. Disappointing service.
