• How not to run a bar...!

  This bar / pub is currently being renovated but is unlikely to rid itself of the power drinkers and ASBO element. The door staff do little to help by piling in on potential trouble without any thought for those in the way. (My wife was knocked down with her drink in hand and she was more than 40ft away from the vicintiy of the trouble. When I complained I was told "if you don't like it, leave" The over crowding & excessively loud music is a major factor for the troubles they have. Far too many drinks being spilt over other people and those being doused are unable to hear you apologise. If you soak or bump into a local idiot chances are your are in for a punch up and likely to get thrown out for your trouble. The toilets are disgusting, always flooded, no loo paper, no doors left on the loo. One hand dryer has not worked for over 3 years (only 1 other dryer available). The stench is incredible and eminates out into the bar area. The bar staff are ofer rude & dismissive and often bring you the wrong drink! The food which was once of a good standard is now so poor, my friend got up and walked out after waiting 40mins for his afternoon dinner only to find a 6" hair in his dinner & his daughter had a dead fly cooked amongs her fries. The furnishings are so bad the carpet sticks to your feet as you walk and many of the seats are covered in old spilt drinks & vomit (this you can smell) For all this you have to pay to get through the door...! I hope they change their policy as well as the furnishings during its refurb.
