Garden centre/bistro/gift shop
I'd give the National Herb Centre top marks for its plants and garden centre. There's a fabulous collection of herbs, shrubs and cultivated wild flowers on display - and to buy - and the quality and price of the stock is excellent. Also, it is free to visit, so you can wander around looking at the collection and admiring the sight and smell of all the herbs, even if you decide not to buy anything. However, as delightful as the converted barn is, the price of a cup of tea and a piece of cake nearly knocked me sideways. Perhaps the charges subsidise the Centre, but it did take the edge off an otherwise very pleasant visit. Still, well worth having a look round.
