Over the time I have been working as a private tutor, I have seen a wide variety of students of all ages and abilities. During their time with me, either for a few lessons or over a year or more, I have watched their confidence grow.
In some cases as well as having difficulties with the subject, they had lost interest in it, due to large classes or poor teaching. I have found it stimulating to rekindle their enthusiasm for a subject, which is so often perceived as tedious.
As a consequence with renewed understanding, confidence and interest, their results in class and exams improve considerably.
I have a degree in Mathematics from Oxford University and also a Post Graduate Certificate in Education.
I have taught in Oxford schools for many years, and my children have been to school locally, so I am familiar with the demands of the curriculum, both nationally and locally.
I have been working as a private tutor for over seven years and in that time I have taught students from almost every school in Oxford and round about.
I hold an Enhanced Disclosure from the CRB

I offer maths tuition at GCSE and A level from my home in Central North Oxford.
I mainly teach at A level, having the full worked past papers of all the popular boards. This includes Further Maths and preparation for Cambridge STEP or Oxford entrance exams.
I also teach GCSE and IGCSE at Higher level. I am happy to teach pupils of year 9 and below in half terms and holidays, but not usually on a regular basis in term time.
I also teach numeracy skills to adults, when they are required for qualifications.
